As a Technically capable developer, and CTO, who has already been through a successful startup journey, you are now looking for an opportunity to work with a start-up that really can make a difference in people's lives while having a positive impact on the environment.
My client can offer both. They are an early-stage London based tech startup, and proving to be the "darling" of the moment, with powerful advocates singing their praises in the AI/Big Data space.
The two co-founders are both Bio Chemists with a track record of delivering and advising on technology startups in eCommerce, Telecoms and the Energy sector on both sides of the Atlantic.
Their offering is multi-faceted.
Firstly their platform uses data-driven ML/AI technology to track & trace the location of consumer products at the point of disposal, providing consumer manufacturers with a unique data set on the demographics of users who actually use their products, rather than just data extracted from point of sale.
Secondly, they are creating an additional source of income for the neediest in society in the form of a reward scheme that encourages consumers to responsibly process and track their recyclable rubbish, by simply taking a photo via their smartphone or similar device, of the barcode that appears on consumer packaging, via my clients' mobile App.
This is as opposed to the current practise of forcing consumers to actively recycle by imposing fines or fuelling a guilt trip.
The role of hands-on CTO/Tech founder will initially focus on system design and coding skills, as the first task will be to create an APP for both Android and IOS with video/camera functionalities and usual database-based processes, plus a web-enabled API to connect with them.
From the UI/UX perspective, this must be a simple and straightforward registration and user experience, while being both scalable and robust on the back end.
This is virtually a greenfield project, and something the right hands-on CTO can really make their own. My client is technology agnostic and open to discuss and consider the CTOs' technology of choice.
The candidate must be as passionate as the team on the power of data to bring positive change, and ideally will have had worked on startups and understand their nature. As such, the role comes with a minimum of 5% equity in the business and a basic salary once funding has been established (estimated Nov/Dec 2020), and as the Technical Leader in the business, the candidate is expected to have an active role with further funding activities as well.
